What's New
Clevernotes is in active beta. Here's what we've been building.
The changelog is the best proof that the beta is moving quickly. If the current direction fits how you work, request access from the homepage and we will email when new spots open.
Mac beta 0.9.21 — recording reliability and clearer triage
Meeting recording now reconnects system audio more reliably, warning states are clearer, settings changes apply immediately, and Spark triage actions now use “Dismiss” language instead of “Delete”.
Local MCP access in shipped Mac builds
Local Tools Access now works in Release builds through the Mac app, with per-agent tokens, structured tool results, Clevernotes resources, prompts, and setup helpers for coding agents. The legacy REST API remains developer-only.
Search quality and email capture updates
Compound searches now prioritize exact document matches more reliably, stale local search indexes rebuild automatically, and forwarded email captures are cleaned into readable Markdown with non-inline attachments preserved.
Editorial mono design system and website refresh
The marketing site moves to the new editorial mono design system with JetBrains Mono typography, a split-flap hero animation on the homepage, and updated feature pages covering Goals and Habits.
CleverPal model picker — Gemini + Grok
CleverPal now supports multiple AI providers. A model picker lets you choose between Google Gemini (default) and xAI Grok for your assistant conversations. All other AI features (transcription, image analysis, Sparks, memory extraction) continue to use Gemini.
Goals, Habits, and follow-through
Set meaningful goals with milestones and track progress across linked projects and tasks. Define daily or weekly habits, check in from Focus view, and watch streaks grow. Goals and habits connect to your captures, Sparks, and the Focus brief so everything works together. Goals and Habits tools are now also available via MCP.
Home redesign, capture delight, and refreshed What's New
iPhone Home now does a better job of surfacing your day at a glance, including a stronger Focus brief and clearer next-step momentum after capture. We also refreshed the in-app What's New experience and added richer feedback throughout key capture flows.
People view, structured AI search, and Data Controls
macOS beta now includes a People view that keeps meetings, notes, and follow-ups connected around the same person. Search and CleverPal also got more structured result rendering, with clearer source-backed retrieval when a question is better answered by results than by a single paragraph.
Data Controls now make derived AI data management more explicit. You can control generated memory and embeddings and delete existing generated artifacts when needed, while local MCP access now lives with AI model settings.
Focus becomes a stronger daily surface
Focus now has a more prominent role in the product, helping you see what matters now instead of digging through raw lists and recent captures. That includes a stronger action hub on iPhone and tighter prioritization workflows across the beta.
Sparks — AI-powered suggestions
Sparks are intelligent recommendations that AI generates after every capture. Mention a restaurant in a voice note? Spark suggests adding it to your list. Agree to a deadline? Spark creates the task. One tap to accept, swipe to dismiss.
Sparks work across all capture methods — voice, text, screenshots, web clips, and meetings.
CleverPal
CleverPal doesn't just answer questions about your notes. Ask it to clean up duplicate tasks, reorganize projects, find gaps in your plans, draft follow-up emails, or search the web for current information. It takes action, not just conversations.
Calendar & agenda view
A new calendar and agenda view integrates events alongside your tasks and reminders. See what's ahead, what's overdue, and what needs your attention — all in one place. Events can be created manually or generated from Sparks.
Collections
Group related entries around a topic with Collections. Pin your most important collections for quick access. Collections work across all entry types — notes, tasks, lists, and files.
Local MCP Integration
The MCP integration now runs locally through the macOS app's localhost API. Connect Codex, Claude, or other MCP-compatible local tools to Clevernotes on your Mac, with opt-in enablement and local-agent token protection for MCP requests.
iOS app launch
Clevernotes is now available on iPhone. Capture on the go with voice, text, camera, and photos. Full sync with the macOS app, with all AI processing working the same across platforms.
Projects & task management
Full project and task management with priorities, due dates, recurring reminders, and project grouping. Tasks can be created manually, from Sparks, or through CleverPal. Projects give you a home for complex multi-step work.
Semantic search & memory system
Search now understands meaning, not just keywords. Find what you need even when you can't remember the exact words. The memory system extracts facts, preferences, and relationships from your notes, building a structured knowledge base that grows smarter over time.
Web clips and browser capture groundwork
Web pages can be captured with full article extraction instead of a bare bookmark. Web clips are processed by AI the same way as every other capture: insights extracted, Sparks generated, and content indexed for semantic search. Dedicated Chrome and Safari extensions remain under development.
Meeting recordings with speaker detection
Record meetings directly in Clevernotes with automatic speaker detection. Get structured transcripts with speaker labels and AI-generated summaries. No meeting bot required — just press record.
Clevernotes beta launch
The first public beta of Clevernotes for macOS. Voice capture with real-time transcription, text notes, screenshot analysis, file indexing, AI-powered organization, and local-first architecture with Firebase cloud sync.
We are shipping steadily across capture, follow-through, and search. If that direction matches your workflow, the best next step is to request beta access from the homepage.
