From “I’ll deal with it later” to done.
How capture, next steps, search, and privacy work — without another notes graveyard.
Lunch with Sarah becomes three things you can finish.
You talk through the day. Clevernotes suggests what to do next — a task, a reminder, a list item, an event. Accept what helps. Dismiss the rest. Nothing gets added unless you say yes.
Real Mac beta · review one suggestion at a time
"Had lunch with Sarah. She recommended that new Thai place on Elm Street. Also, I need to send her the project brief by Wednesday and we should plan a team dinner for the 20th."
Works the same whether you captured a voice memo, a receipt, a screenshot, a meeting, or a web page — so loose ends stop dying in a pile.
Capture everything. Sort nothing.
Get it out of your head (or your camera) the moment it shows up. Clevernotes figures out what it is later.
Voice memo · macOS · transcript ready after you stop
Voice in the car
Brain dump on a walk. Grocery list at a red light. A thought before it vanishes — transcribed moments after you stop talking.
Quick text
A line in a hurry or a longer note when you have time. Type it raw. Structure can wait.
Photos & screenshots
Whiteboard before it gets erased. Receipt on the counter. Error message on screen. Clevernotes reads what’s in the image so you can find it later.
Files & paper scans
Drop in a PDF or spreadsheet. Scan handwriting from your phone. Find things by what they say, not what you named the file.
Web pages
Share a page from Safari or any mobile browser today. Chrome and Safari extensions are coming. The article stays readable, not just a link you’ll forget.
Meetings (no bot)
Record a client call or standup without inviting a bot. Transcripts, speaker labels, and next steps from what people actually said.
Accepted next steps become real work.
A capture is only useful if it has somewhere to live and a way to get done.
Focus · macOS · what needs you today
Clear the queue
New stuff lands in a review queue. Accept the useful suggestions, file the rest, and keep the pile from becoming guilt.
Start the day knowing what matters
Focus gives you today’s schedule, overdue work, and open loops. End the week with a short review of what you captured, finished, and still owe.
Projects that hold the whole story
Wedding plans, a product launch, a kitchen reno — tasks, notes, and files live together so you’re not hunting across apps.
Tasks, reminders & calendar
Priorities, due dates, and “every Tuesday” or “the day before the lease expires.” Events sit next to tasks. Meetings can link back to the calendar.
Lists that grow from real life
Restaurants to try, books, gifts, packing. Mention something in a voice note and it can land on the right list instead of disappearing.
People you keep running into
On Mac, People pages gather meetings, notes, and follow-ups around the same person so relationships don’t live only in your memory.
If you saved it, you can find it — and ask about it.
Search by meaning or keyword across notes, transcripts, images, and meetings. Ask in plain language when you need an answer, not a scavenger hunt.
Ask your notes · macOS · answers link back to sources
“That restaurant Sarah recommended” finds the voice note even if you never said the word restaurant. When you ask a question, every answer links back to the original capture so you can check it yourself. Sometimes a list of matches is more useful than a paragraph — you get that, too.
Private enough to put the real stuff in.
Receipts, half-formed ideas, family notes, meeting rants — encrypted on your device before they sync. Clevernotes never stores a copy we can open at rest.
Your sign-in is not the note key
Password and note encryption are separate. If our cloud were breached, attackers still could not read your stored notes, files, transcripts, or search data. Unlocking happens only on your trusted devices.
Devices + a recovery key
A new device needs approval from one you already trust, or your 24-word recovery key. We’ll help you save that key once — like a password manager. If you lose every device and the key, we cannot get your notes back. That’s intentional.
AI still works when you ask
When you transcribe, summarize, or get next-step suggestions, only what’s needed is sent for that request. Results are encrypted again before they sync. Your notes aren’t used to train models.
Share without us reading the notes
Shared Spaces keep note content encrypted between members. Clevernotes syncs them but cannot read the notes. Invite links show only a short label and basic join preview — not the private content.
Details live in the privacy policy and FAQ — what’s encrypted, what account metadata we need to run the service, and how recovery works.
Your agents finally have your context.
Pair Claude Code, Codex, or Claude Desktop with Clevernotes on your Mac. Your agent can search your captures, check what you decided, manage tasks, and draft from past work—so it answers from your meetings and documents instead of a blank context window.
This uses a standard local connection (MCP) that stays on your machine. Access starts only after you approve the connection in Clevernotes, and you can revoke any agent in settings at any time.
